New Queenbee Press launch title and digital venture
Ten Past Eight and www.cwwc.com
launching January 2011

Following on from the phenomenal success of The Leap Year, their first collection of short stories, The Contemporary Women Writers’ Club (CWWC) will publish Ten Past Eight,  their second collection through Queenbee Press, their own imprint. They aim to launch the book both in print form and digitally, in conjunction with their new online portal, www.cwwc.com.

Ten Past Eight is a collection of twelve short stories by founder members of the CWWC. Each story hinges around the time of ten past eight in the evening. Each protagonist is female and in each story a life-altering event occurs at this time of day, playing on the theme of 2010. The theme links in with the new decade and reflects new digital forms of publishing. The book will be published digitally and in print, utilising the latest print-on-demand digital technology and cross-platform applications.

The Contemporary Women Writers’ Club aims to encourage women around the globe to write and publish. Our new portal provides online programmes by professional women writers of fiction and non-fiction. It also provides an invaluable online resource on getting published in print and digital forms. The site offers insider information on latest developments in the industry and insight from the some of the most revered women writing today. Our website, www.cwwc.com will include rich content as well as digitally downloadable stories. It aims to become the essential online portal for women w ho write, a home for learning, collaborating, sharing and celebrating the art of women writing today.

Queenbee Press intends to harness the potential of the CWWC community by publishing new writing by talented women writers, both in print form and digitally on cross-platform applications, such as the web, and on mobile technology, including the iPhone. All founder members of The Contemporary Women Writers' Club share a desire to write and to keep writing, to publish and keep publishing. Through our new imprint, Queenbee Press, we intend to do just that – and so celebrate and perpetuate the art of quality women’s fiction. We are established novelists Lucy Cavendish and Miranda Glover and emerging talents Rachel Jackson, Jennie Walmsley and Anne Tuite-Dalton.
